St. Mary's Grotto of Lourdes
In Unterlamm you find a great replica of the St. Mary’s Grotto of Lourdes which is unique in the whole Thermal and Volcano Land and in the entire Province of Styria. This Grotto reminds us of the St. Mary’s epiphany in the French place of pilgrimage Lourdes in the year 1858.
Father Franz Brei has had the idea to erect this great place of prayer at the slope adjacent to the church.
In cooperation with the municipality a spiritual centre around the Roman Catholic church came into being after only a six-month construction time.
At each 11th of the month at 7pm a holy mass with a light procession takes place at the Lourdes St. Mary’s Grotto.
